Huawei P9 - Full Review

1. Overview

Huawei P9 is the latest flagship device from Huawei which features an all-metal body. It is slimmer and lighter than other flagships.he Huawei P9 has similar  design as its Huawei P9 Plus flagship, but only the frame is metal this time around, the back is smooth polycarbonate.Huawei P9 has been priced at Rs 39,900/- INR or $595 -$600 (US Dollar).

2. Display

The Huawei P9 has a 5.2 inches  full-HD IPS LCD screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels  It comes with.  Corning Gorilla Glass protection with (~69.9% screen-to-body ratio)  and a pixel density of 424ppi. Display is quite sharp and there  were no noticable any lack of detail or quality in display.

3. Software

Huawei has used their own chipset like Samsung. Huawei P9 is no different and is powered by  HiSilicon octa-core Kirin 955 chipset (four cores clocked at 2.5GHz  and other four cores clocked at 1.8GHz ) with Mali-T830MP2  GPU. It comes with Android OS, v6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box.

Huawei P9 has its own UI that is Emotion UI 4.1 and has 3 GB Ram. Internal storage is 32 GB but it can be further expanded to 256 GB using a microSD card.

4 . Performance

Huawei P9' s overall perfromance was good .But the performane was not that excellent which we usually get with Snapdragon and MediaTek Chipset. The Hisilicon Kirin   has been in theflagship devices of Huawei .Along with 3GB of RAM, this keeps the phone running smoothly and efficiently, but there were not any noticable lags.

The difference we found was with loading apps .Ram management was not that good. But it was not a serious issue, we can say it was like 50-50 as some apps and games got loaded fast some not.

5 . Camera

aRear/Back Camera on Huawei P9 is a  12.3 MP Leica camera which might be new as most of the companies used sony IMX sensors, It has a 1/3" sensor size, f/2.0 aperture,with autofocus, LED flash. Camera features of P9 is , geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and much more. Video camera on the P9 can record 2160 4K video,1080p@30fps. Front Camera on P9 is 8 MP, f/2.0 aperture.

Huawei P9 has  two 12-megapixel camera sensors .Out of which one of them is a normal RGB sensor and the other is a monochrome sensor. Both sensors have their own roles like RGB sensor captures colours details and the monochrome one capture more light and detail .None of the lens has OIS optical image stabilisation.

6 . Battery

Huawei P9 powers a 3000 mAh battery which is a Non-removable battery. Neither the phones supoorts Fast-charging . Huawei has it's own Battery manager  and includes three power  saving plans . These plans gives you an estimate of how long your phone battery can survive.

The Ultra power saving mode essentially turns the P9 Lite into a feature phone and almost doubles your battery life of your phone.

7. Final Conclusion

At a price of rs 39,900 (INR) or $595-$600 ,Huawei P9 is a good phone with nice design and excellent camera. If you are going for a  good camera ,then Huawei P9 is certainly worth buying. It has combination of two camera sensors with helps you with colors,more light and Detail.Video Camera is good at 1080p but not that at 2160p 4k and the main thing no optical image stablisation OIS.You can get other phones at this range which are some sort of ll-rounder in all deparments.
